Despite embarking on their maiden European campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved no match even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
